Nuanaarpuq: to take extravagant pleasure in the joy of living.
Like Henry David Thoreau’s “live deep and suck out all the marrow of life” and Helen Keller’s “life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all,” this Inuit word has served as a clarion call to me since I first heard it as a teenager. Embrace this one precious pass at life. Live intentionally. Consciously enjoy your existence.
I created Nuanaarpuq as a forum for expression of those things in life that give me the greatest joy: travel, photography, stories of people and places, and the unexpected, beautiful things found along the journey.
Realizing that my passions are shared by countless others stricken with wanderlust, I hope Nuanaarpuq will inspire you to plan your next adventure, evoke memories of a trip taken years ago, or simply remind you that the world in all of its distant corners is vast—and it is all worth seeing.
